We are busy testing the integration of a new text editor into the XMS Content Management System.

It is a lot easier to use than the previous editor and allows you more freedom and flexibility to do your own thing.

I will have to agree that some of the new features in the editor and not "easy" to use and lot more complex than most casual users would be willing to attempt.
Never the less I urge you to create a test page and try them out for yourself. You might just see it is not that difficult.

Templates

The new editor doesn't "really" support templates, how ever we did build a couple of templates for the news editor that you can use and modify to suit your needs. It is not possible to save any of the templates... Not yet anyway... 

Hire and Fly

The hire and fly module is near enough done and we are busy with BETA testing on it to ensure is is usable and to iron out any bugs.
